Ive been running Mint 19 Cinnamon long term and its improved hugely, particularly with recent updates but I always tend to gravitate back to KDE, just as those users above.

I worked at Anandtech for years when Anand was there but since he left its simply not the same any more. Its still a good site for most mainstream users but i recommend Arstechnica myself, given the level of expertise available in the staff and membership.

Most GUI stuff works well Capt so not really any worries. Same as Windows in most cases for me, GUI most of the time until something goes way of track then I head to the command line and fix it. The number of businesses using Linux in my area has really increased,mostly because the Federal Govt. contractors are using it and they really had no choice.

Did two more installs for friends and what an easy distro to work with. They are enjoying it and chose it after trying MX17, Mint Cinnamon 19, and PCLinuxOS 2018 KDE. 5.4 has few issues and the included apps are actually fine for most users. Agree as Im not sure why he made that comment about rpm distros. It is a good article and hopefully will help a few people understand more about the topic.
