Re: Firefox 86 released

I continue to use FF ESR - finally had to give in and sign up for FF account as profile portability is now impossible. Wife finds that many of her shopping sites are very bad in FF but OK in Chrome - especially clothes, wool and so on. I've had the same issues with some sites. Switching off adblocke...

Re: Covid 19 shot today

We had ours on Tuesday - Oxford A-Z. Wednesday wife felt awful - I was OK By Friday she was OK apart from stomach cramps and I was feeling a generally bit rough - muscle cramps, tiredness, headache, joint pains... Saturday morning my temp dropped from 36.1 to 34.9 and has stayed low since. Both stil...

Re: Filmulator image editor

RAW is essentially what the sensor gets when the shutter fires. The onboard processor then converts that to jpg (if you are shooting in jpg) using parameters set by the mfr plus any adjustments that the user can apply to the shot in the camera settings such as sharpness, contrast, white balance etc....

Re: Wine 6.0 released

Crossover is very good. Back in the day I used it to provide the most reliable method of running MS Office when I HAD to, plus some Windows only time tracker software that the company ran. I even had the MAC users running the MAC version of Crossover to do the same job. I recently let my license lap...

Re: Its finally over

Sadly that man has infected so many people that you're more likely to get rid of Covid than you are of his malignant, bullying, misogynistic, divisive, evil, self serving influence. Realistically, Jo will not last the course - which is sad because I think he is what is needed. However I do think Kam...

Re: Wine 6.0 released

Well I've just installed Wine 6.0 in a TDE VM and so far so good. Picasa would crash on exit more often than not with Wine 5. So far so good with 6
and yes I do still use Picasa for some things which it does well.....

Re: Wine 6.0 released

I must admit I have concerns over the future of WINE as so many older Windows progs that work in WINE still rely on 32bit libraries.

With i386 support heading for the sunset there'll be no incentive to maintain the WINE32 i386 dependencies.

Re: Issues with Bleachbit 4.0

I must admit I have never had any issues with Bleachbit. However I only use it to remove foreign language localisation stuff.

That doesn't sound like much but on average it's around 450mb and 18-20,000 files!

Re: PCLinuxOS with Trinity Desktop

I re-tried PCLOS a couple of years back. I must admit I found the PCLOS TDE a bit too odd - plus I have so much software in deb format that switching to an rpm based distro was too much pain :) However, I have just been working with vanilla Debian Bullseye CLI install then adding Trinity 14.10 from ...
