Kubuntu powered by Trinity

My 2008 MBP will run just about any distro based on Ubuntu 22.04. I installed Kubuntu 22.04 which runs decent. I then followed the directions on the Trinity website for installing Trinity on Kubuntu. It went without a hitch and when the system restarts you are greated with a "Kubuntu powered by...

Re: VLC

I may have spoke too soon. At first try this morning I got nothing. After a couple tries it came on, but I am not sure what was up. The codec seemed all messed up. I was just getting clicks beeps and an occasional garble. Then a few minutes it came through pretty clear. That is not uncommon with str...

Re: VLC

I was listening to the stream I had posted for a bit and decided to give the streams you mentioned, Chris, a try. I copied the url and pasted into VLC and poof a couple seconds later it began playing. I have no clue why I was having troubles earlier, but VLC is working fine now with your stations. I...

Re: VLC

Well Chris I got the streams up and running in Amrok on the Trinty DE, so geofencing is not the root of the problem I am having in VLC. have not yet installed VLC on this setup, but will give it a go in a bit.

Re: When did the UK go metric?

The organ shop worked in metric. Metric units are easier to work with and in mfg supplies and parts often originate from metric only sources. I think most mfg in the US is based around metric. Construction still revolves around feet and inch and dimensional stock is sold in feet and inches. Surveyin...

When did the UK go metric?

I had started something about weather, then stopped when I got to "F" as opposed "C" and got sidetracked. As a kid I grew up near a military base up by the Canadian border. At that time the Canadians sold gas in imperial gallons, which were slightly larger than US gallons. Temper...

Re: Lenovo Legion R25f-30 monitor

My wife uses a 27" Viewsonic monitor, that is probably 15 years old now. It of course only has the one refresh rate, and I have no idea what it might be. When she first got it I thought it was way to big, but as I get older it is nice on the eyes. It is a 1920x1080 resolution which at first I t...

Re: VLC

Thanks Chris, I downloaded that attachment. I have not looked it over yet or moved it to its place. The last couple days have been busier than I like, but soon I will concentrate on it. I did not know that uploading files with a post was possible. I do not have anything to upload, but this site keep...

Re: VLC

Chris, I am going to have to figure out what to do with your configuration. Is that a text file added to a directory or just an entry from the command line? I have not looked at all into configuring VLC. I did add the URLs for your stream which reported that they could not be opened. I went to the s...

Re: VLC

A fellow on a different forum from Australia pointed me to this radio stream. <http://stream.whrwfm.org/stream.ogg> Their description says, "Harpur Radio Workshop, hereafter known as WHRW, is a free-format, educational, and community radio station located on the campus of Binghamton University....
