Re: Switched my system into a new case
It has to be a real treat to have vision back to top notch. Belated, but congrats on the successful surgery.

Re: Site suggestion?
I do have a copy of the guide. It is however stored in the reference library section of the NextCloud. It just seems it would be BBCode would more accessible and perhaps more often used if a reference to it was part of the site. The reply window mentions that facets of the BBCode are on and options ...

Site suggestion?
I am not very good at BB Code and I find it hard to get to the documentation for its usage. It might be useful to have BB Code usage info as either a pinned comment somewhere in the forum, or perhaps an an article on the main site page with the other documentation. And perhaps a link on the forum si...

Re: Trackballs
I do not use a trackball with games, because I do not do any gaming. Here is the trackball I like. <https://www.kensington.com/p/products/electronic-control-solutions/trackball-products/slimblade-pro-trackball/> Generally I roll the ball about using the heel of my palm, using the upper set of button...

I enjoy Cris' antics. He appears to be one of the somewhat rare people that is not only good at what he does, but also seems to have a great deal of fun doing it. I have alway appreciated the fact that overall he is very OS agnostic.

Re: Asmi linux
I downloaded the minimal iso and gave it a spin on my 2010 MBP. I am very impressed with how quick and fast this distro runs from a USB. I believe you could install this to a USB thumb drive and have a perfectly functional portable system. I personally find XFCE to be intimidating and knowing nothin...

Re: Trackballs
Trackballs pre date computers. From what I have read, trackballs were developed by the Royal Navy for use in aiming the big guns on their battle ships. Computer trackballs are perhaps more accurately considered a reinvention. Nothing technically is known about the Royal Navy Trackballs, since the Br...

Re: Asmi linux
I like The Register. They along with Ars Technica have outstanding tech articles that are useful enjoyable reads. I had not heard of Asmi Linux or its predecessor Zinc before that mention. I find it amusing that Ubuntu has joined Microsoft in the realm of punching bag OSes. Perhaps since Ubuntu spaw...

Trackballs
I started with just a keyboard and when the mouse came along, I was just not that impressed. Mice did not work poorly, but they always seemed to get in the way. A friend pointed me to a Trackball and I switched from a mouse to a trackball. I took to it like a duck to water. I had one with a ball the...

I came across this application recently. It it serves the same function as the Raspberry Pi Imager or Etcher. It strips out the Pi specific stuff from Imager, leaving a very simple interface with no advertising. It does have the ability to download many iso installer images and install them to USB w...
