Re: Bitlocker by default with Win11 24H2
I guess you haven't used Chris's script then, it can really slim your system down, I used it on both my desktop (Win10) and laptop (Win11) the only ones with Windows on them and the results were pretty amazing!

Re: Bitlocker by default with Win11 24H2
I haven't checked but the last time I installed Windows I used Chris Titus Tech's script to remove/disable certain parts of Win11 that I do not care for, might be worth checking back on it to see if it has been updated to cater for this.

Re: Trackballs
I remember having one many years ago and it was really good to use, at the time I was using standard mouse with a physical ball that rolled on the desk and it was a major upgrade, like @wove already said there is no moving when you tap the button which I could probably use more now as I have recentl...

Re: When did the UK go metric?
As well as the above comments I find I use metric for anything small and detailed (like 3d print designs / ingredients for cooking) although mouse speed and Tv resolution is always dpi (dots per inch) and then imperial for anything bigger, height is always feet/inches, temps in Centigrade, one heck ...

That's great news! My father had laser surgery on his eyes and the difference was quite literally night and day!

Re: What hardware are you using?
That's a good result then! i get great pleasure from resurrecting failed hardware, even when it's old and probably not worth the expense of taking it to a repair shop.

Re: Neon and Plasma 6
I see the latest version (17) dropped having Xfce as an alternative desktop (available in 16), I guess to reduce workload as maintaining one DE would be a lot of work and two simply doubles that amount!
Do they use snaps/flatpacks as default apps or just have them available?

Re: Neon and Plasma 6
I see Zorin has Gnome as DE, how do you get on with it? I have Gnome on my Surface Pro 3 because it has better integration of on-screen keyboard which is needed when used in tablet mode. If it wasn't for that I'd most likely use XFCE instead. I am quite happy with it overall though it hasn't given m...
