Re: What distros have you been testing recently?
Ive been testing Neon and it works very well with my Lenovo M600 Tiny but has a drawback. KDE 6 uses alot more memory than KDE 5 does. KDE 6 is using around 1gb-1.4gb versus KDE 5 that uses 477mb-700mb. It surprises me as Neon is a pretty minimalist distro and I dont have alot of extra programs inst...

Re: What distros have you been testing recently?
PCLinuxOS KDE works fine with the 6.2 kernel so not sure what the issue is with some distros, The Lenovo M600 Tiny uses the Intel HD 405 graphics which shouldnt be a problem

Retried Mint 22 XFCE in compatibility mode and it still wont install. It appears it may be an issue with the Intel IGP and it wasnt immediately obvious to me as why this was the case. OpenMandriva I believe may suffer from the same issue and the newer kernels might not support older Intel IGPs that ...

Re: What distros have you been testing recently?
So far it hasnt been going well. Q4OS TDE went fine but I still cant get use to the flow of the GUI. OpenMandriva 24.07 simply wouldnt install and I also had issues with Mint 22 XFCE so those are a no go. Antix 23.1 was a nother distro I didnt like the GUI and the overall workflow. Feren OS, Q4OS KD...

Re: Switzerland makes open source software mandatory for public sector
Its not just Switzerland as France has begun a move in this direction, the German state is also doing this and the European Union is also shifting in this direction. So far the United States is lagging behind many other countries with a move to open source.
