Alienware R10

Just bought one for $550 new. It doesnt have a gpu but I just ordered a RX6600 and a 2TB NVMe ssd. It comes with 8gb of ram but I already have 32gb to use, 1tb hdd with Win10. It has the Ryzen 5600x processor which is perfect as its will run quieter with air cooling versus the 5900X that really need...

Re: Video card situation

132w power usage which is ideal, is excellent in the 1080P range but still can play many games at 60fps at 1440P. No heat issues and fits easily into the case. I read some reviews and one ran 59 tests and average fps improvement over the rx570 was 33-55fps. Lets hope it lasts as long as my rx570 did...

Re: Video card situation

Confirmed card has to be no longer than 10.5 inches. I picked up a XFX Swift 210 RX 6600 for $329 on Ebay brand new. Should net around 40-50fps better than the RX570 at 1080P which is easiest on my eyes.

Re: Video card situation

Running a 460w psu for starters so might be an issue. Id really rather stay in the $200s if possible. Its an odd situation as in fact the Ryzen 5 2600 bottlenecks the RX570 by an average of 7%-12%. Even the 5600x bottlenecks the RX570 by 3-7%. If I were running a 5600x with the RX570 Id see about a ...

Video card situation

Need to upgrade from the RX570 but right now there are no options. Cards new are really expensive. Even a move to the RX5600XT will run close to $400. High end cards are far more expensive approaching $700 or more. Ita actually easier to buy a pre-built pc and both upgrade and gain access to a bette...

Re: Windows 11

I would agree with that as niche use for now does favor Windows but Linux has really come a long way. Zorin has an excellent feel compared to Windows and would satisfy a lot people.

Re: Nvidia...yes, NVIDIA announces they're open sourcing their GPU drivers

Things have happened with both companies over the years. Nvidia had an issue with their gpus in various laptops, HP being the best known as they would slowly slip out of their sockets. Nvidia tried to deny the problems given the heat issues with the GPU and it ended up being settled out of court. AM...

Re: Nvidia...yes, NVIDIA announces they're open sourcing their GPU drivers

Ray tracing really isnt that important to most gamers and Nvidia has always pushed newer features even though the overall gaming market wasnt really using them. AMD had been conservative with their drivers and stuck to making them stable for gaming. Ive had far fewer issues with their drivers versus...
